I first got invited to try Seobility in March 2026. Since then, I’ve been testing it on my own website to see how it compares to other SEO tools I already use. After a few months of using it, I think I finally have enough experience with the platform to share my honest thoughts.

Seobility has actually been around for quite a while. The company was founded in 2011 and is based in Nuremberg, Germany.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Seobility free plan. You can monitor one website with up to 1,000 crawled pages, track 10 keywords, and even get access to some keyword research and content optimization features.

Even if you’re already paying for another SEO platform, I’d still recommend creating a free Seobility account. Personally, I never rely on rankings from just one tool. Every rank tracker shows slightly different numbers, so having a second data source helps me sanity-check the data.

Another thing I liked right away was the pricing. It’s simple. No credits to keep an eye on, no extra add-ons, and no surprise limitations halfway through the month.

The Premium plan costs $50 per month (or $480 per year) and includes pretty much everything most website owners need: support for three domains, 300 tracked keywords with daily updates, local rank tracking, and AI Overviews tracking. If you’re managing multiple websites or running an agency, the Agency plan costs $200 per month (or $1,920 per year) and increases the limits to 15 domains and 1,500 keywords.

Overall, I think Seobility is one of the most affordable SEO tools I’ve tested. When so many popular SEO platforms now start at around $200 per month, paying $50 for an all-in-one SEO toolkit feels reasonable.

If you’d like to try it yourself, Seobility offers a 14-day free trial of the Premium plan. You’ll need to add a credit card to activate it, but you can cancel before the trial ends.

Now, let’s see what Seobility can actually do and whether it’s a good fit for your business.

Who is Seobility for?

In my opinion, Seobility is best suited for individual website owners and SEO agencies that don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars every month on SEO software. For agencies managing several websites, Seobility can be a cost-effective alternative to more expensive tools like Semrush or Ahrefs.

If you’re new to SEO, you’ll notice that the platform is easy to navigate and gives you clear recommendations without making you feel overwhelmed by data.

I get a lot of questions from readers who are just building out their AI marketing tools stack, and Seobility is one of the easier platforms to hand to someone without an SEO background.

Website Audit

Even though Seobility positions itself as an all-in-one SEO platform, I personally think its strongest side is technical SEO.

With Seobility, you can monitor:

  • Indexed and non-indexed pages
  • Your robots.txt file
  • Pages blocked from Google and AI crawlers (this was one of my favorite features)
  • Technical SEO issues such as broken links, duplicate pages, missing or incorrect canonicals, slow-loading pages, and more
  • A prioritized list of issues, so you know what deserves your attention first
  • Broken internal and external links
  • Broken redirects and redirect chains
  • Slow pages and response time issues
  • On-page content problems

What I like is that Seobility highlights the most critical technical issues first, making it easier to prioritize fixes.

When I ran an audit on my website, the top issues actually made perfect sense. Since I migrated my old domain to Behind Rankings in May 2026, Seobility flagged problems related to broken redirects, external links, and links pointing to redirects. Those were exactly the issues I needed to clean up.

I exported the report, uploaded it to Claude (which has access to my Google Search Console data), validated the findings, and then started fixing the issues one by one.

Seobility website audit issues prioritized

One thing I noticed right away is that Seobility’s free plan is more generous than many alternatives.

For example, Screaming Frog’s free version only lets you crawl up to 500 URLs, while Seobility gives you up to 1,000 pages for free. If you upgrade to the Premium plan, the crawl limit increases to 25,000 pages, which should be enough for many larger websites.

One feature I didn’t expect to use as much as I do is Uptime Monitoring.

It sounds like one of those features you don’t really need… until you suddenly do.

Uptime monitoring helps you stay informed about downtime or server outages on your website.

Seobility helped me discover that my old domain was randomly going offline several times throughout the day. I probably wouldn’t have noticed it otherwise because the outages were short. After receiving an email alert from Seobility, I checked the website and found that it was loading extremely slowly before eventually returning a 500 server error.

Website downtime causes a poor user experience, and if it happens often enough, it can eventually affect your organic performance too. Because of that, I think monitoring your site’s availability is worth it, whether you use Seobility or another uptime monitoring tool.

Seobility Uptime monitoring

Beyond technical SEO, Seobility also covers most of the SEO tasks you’d probably need in one place:

  • Track keyword rankings in Google
  • Monitor local rankings by city or region
  • See when Google shows AI Overviews for your target keywords and whether your website is mentioned
  • Analyze your backlink profile and monitor new and lost backlinks
  • Discover and replicate competitor backlinks
  • Compare your website’s performance against competitors
  • Do keyword research and keyword gap analysis to uncover new opportunities (similar to Semrush One, but at a much lower price)
  • Find important keywords and topics your content is missing
  • Write, edit, and optimize content directly inside Seobility’s content editor

Is it as advanced as Semrush? No. But considering the price difference, I was surprised by how much functionality Seobility offers. For many website owners and smaller agencies, it covers most of the day-to-day SEO work without requiring a much bigger investment.

Ranking Monitoring

With Ranking Monitoring, you can keep track of how visible your website is in organic search for your target keywords.

Along with the free crawl of up to 1,000 pages, the free plan lets you track 10 keywords, with ranking updates every three days.

The Premium plan ($50/month) increases this limit to 300 keywords, while the Agency plan ($200/month) lets you monitor up to 1,500 keywords with daily updates.

Below, you can see a Ranking Monitoring report from Seobility (as of July 2026). It shows the country (for example, “.com” represents the US. In my opinion, it’s not the most intuitive way to display locations, but I wanted to clarify), daily ranking positions, visibility changes, target URLs, search intent, and whether the page appears in Google AI Overviews.

Seobility’s ranking data is quite similar to what I see in Semrush for the same keywords. Below is a screenshot from my Semrush Position Tracking report, where I highlighted the keywords that also appear in Seobility’s Keyword Monitoring report so you can compare the two side by side.

Semrush Position Tracking July 2026

Here’s my Rank Tracking report from Ubersuggest showing the organic keyword positions for the same keywords I’m monitoring in Seobility. Yes, I like testing and comparing SEO tools to see how their data matches up. It’s one of the best ways to evaluate how accurate their reports really are.

Ubersuggest rank tracking July 2026

Here’s the summary of my organic rank tracking comparison across Seobility, Semrush, and Ubersuggest.

I checked most keywords side by side, and honestly, they line up pretty closely. AI SEO tools sits at #7 everywhere, and Kit alternatives at #4 everywhere.

When three separate tools agree that tightly, they’re probably pulling from similar data or use similar ranking algorithms.

The one outlier is “content writing tools for seo,” where Semrush has me at #14, but Seobility says #8. The gap is likely just normal SERP volatility, not one tool being wrong.

Keyword Semrush rankings Ubersuggest rankings Seobility rankings
AI SEO tools 7 7 7
Content writing tools for SEO 14 11 8
Kit alternatives 4 4 4
Mailerlite alternatives 5 7 5

AI Search Visibility Tracking

Right now, Seobility doesn’t have a dedicated dashboard where you can track your AI Overview mentions over time. It also doesn’t offer LLM visibility tracking yet, which is becoming more important as AI systems increasingly decide which brands and websites get mentioned in the first place. I talk more about this shift and what it means for the future of SEO in the AI era.

However, Seobility does provide a useful AI Overview indicator inside its rank tracking tool. For each keyword you track, you can see whether your page appears in Google’s AI Overview and the position it holds within that AI-generated result.

Backlink Monitoring

If you’re actively building links, this feature can save you time. Seobility automatically tracks new and lost backlinks, gives you a clear picture of how your backlink profile is changing over time, and can suggest link-building opportunities.

Seobility Backlink Monitoring

Seobility also picked up the same issue I previously noticed in Semrush and Ahrefs: competitors pointing large numbers of low-quality backlinks to my website instead of spending their time creating better content.

The good news is that these spammy links usually don’t do much harm because Google has become pretty good at ignoring them. Still, some shady website owners continue using these tactics, which I honestly find strange.

It’s still worth checking your backlink reports from time to time, just in case someone decides to send a wave of spam links your way and ruin your mood for the day.

Link Building

There’s also a link building report that gives you ideas and potential opportunities for earning backlinks to your website.

One thing to keep in mind is that this report isn’t generated instantly. It may take some time for Seobility to find link building opportunities, so you can simply close the report and come back later after receiving an email notification.

The report uses your target keywords and competitor data to uncover potential link opportunities, including:

  • Websites that link to several of your competitors
  • Broken links pointing to competitor pages
  • Sponsored content and guest posting opportunities
  • Popular content related to your target topics and keywords

If you’re actively building backlinks, this feature can be a useful source of ideas.

Personally, I don’t spend much time on proactive link building. I prefer focusing on creating useful content and distributing it through different channels, while backlinks naturally come over time. Is this the perfect approach? Probably not. But as a solo website owner, I have to be selective about where I invest my limited time and resources.

TF*IDF Tool

Honestly, this is probably the one Seobility feature where I’m a bit skeptical. SEO has moved far beyond the old idea that adding a keyword a certain number of times will help a page rank better. Google’s content quality guidance now focuses on creating helpful, reliable, people-first content rather than optimizing content around search engine rankings alone.

I also attended Google Search Central Live Canada in April 2026, where the Google team talked about the importance of “non-commodity content” — content built around real experience, original insights, and depth that can’t be easily replicated or summarized by others. It’s one of the reasons I keep an eye on AI SEO trends.

However, TF*IDF can still be helpful for analyzing competing pages and spotting topics or terms that are commonly covered. However, I wouldn’t use it as a checklist for adding more keywords to your content or expect it to directly improve rankings.

If you give it a try, let me know in the comments how it works for you.

Local SEO

If you’re working on local SEO, Seobility’s Ranking Monitoring feature can help you keep track of how your website performs in different locations.

You can monitor keyword rankings by city or region and see how your pages rank for searches specific to the areas you serve, like “flooring store in Austin, TX” or “bakery in Toronto.” This makes it easier to understand where your local business performs well and where you might need to improve.

Seobility also lets you track your visibility in Google’s Local Pack. These are the top 3–4 map results that appear for many local searches. Since these spots can drive a lot of clicks and calls for local businesses, keeping an eye on your position there can be really valuable.

Seobility free tools

If you’re not ready to commit to a paid SEO tool, Seobility also offers free SEO tools you can use to analyze different parts of your website.

These include on-page and off-page SEO checkers, technical SEO tools, a keyword research tool, a ranking checker, and several other handy tools for basic SEO analysis.

They won’t replace a full SEO platform, but they can be a good starting point if you want to run quick checks or better understand your website’s SEO performance.

What users say

At the time of writing this in July 2026, Seobility has over 62 reviews on Capterra with a 4.6 average rating, over 85 reviews on Trustpilot with a 4.5 average rating, and over 404 reviews on G2 with a 4.6 average rating.

Like any SEO tool, the feedback is a mix of positive reviews and areas where users think there’s room for improvement.

Looking through the latest 2026 reviews, I noticed that users often mention that Seobility is:

  • Easy to use
  • Affordable compared to many other SEO platforms
  • Full of practical SEO insights
  • Beginner-friendly

At the same time, a few users pointed out some issues, mainly around slower customer support responses and occasional differences in keyword ranking data.

Personally, I don’t think there’s an SEO tool out there with perfectly accurate data 100% of the time. Even well-known platforms like Semrush and Ahrefs can show different ranking positions or search volume estimates. For your own website, Google Search Console and Google Analytics will always be the most reliable sources of data.

But when it comes to competitor research, keyword research, or estimating SEO opportunities, every tool works with its own data sources and methodology, so some differences are expected.

I asked the Seobility team these questions

To better understand how Seobility works behind the scenes, I reached out to their team with a couple of questions.

Where does Seobility get its keyword data from? I also noticed that locations are listed as Google domains (for example, Google.com for the US) instead of countries. Does that mean the data only covers Google and not other search engines like Bing?

According to the Seobility team, the tool uses keyword data that is validated against official Google data. While the data aligns with Google’s, it isn’t collected directly from Google.

They also confirmed that Seobility currently tracks Google search results only, since Google remains the dominant search engine for most users.

Are there plans to add AI search tracking or AI chat features?

The answer was yes. AI SEO features have already started rolling out.

For example, AI Overviews tracking is already available in the Rankings section. The team also shared that they’re actively working on an AI visibility tracking feature that will monitor brand mentions, citations, and visibility across AI platforms like Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT.

Should you use Seobility?

If you’re looking for an affordable SEO tool that combines technical audits, rank tracking, backlink monitoring, and competitor insights in one place, Seobility is worth trying.

It may not replace enterprise-level SEO platforms, but it covers the core SEO tasks most website owners and small teams need.

You can test Seobility yourself and see if it fits your workflow.
